DENIM
Fabric originally made in the town of Nimes, hence the name. Hard-wearing tight-weave twill cotton fabric. The warp yarn is an indigo blue twist and the weft yarn is a white carded yarn. Is producd in various weights expressed in ounces. After the manufacturing of the characteristic garments, especially the famous “blue jeans” (the name jeans comes from the American distortion of Genova where a similar fabric was also made), the fabric is treated in various ways: water-washed, washed in chlorine (Blicet or faded), washed with pumice stone (stone washed) etc.
