The environment
For a company like ours working exclusively to customers' orders and having various product lines, it is particularly difficult to demonstrate the environmental improvements introduced for the very reason that the production processes are so variable.
Some variation in percentages can however give an unmistakable indication of the efforts made and results achieved with regard to the environmental effect of our adjustemnts.
Electrical consumption is sensitive to the major "services" required by the various stages of production: compressed air, air conditioning, smoke cleaning, constant distribution pressures, differing productive mixes noticeably increase the overall consumption of electrical power. The containment of that increase is to be considered an extremely encouraging result.
In a market where the demand for quality is constantly and progressively increasing, which means longer processing cycles, more washings and soapings, more elaborate finishings with greater heat consumption per product unit, the results obtained demonstrate our constant commitment and care at every stage of the process.
Water is a precious commodity. This is why we make daily efforts to save it. The conspicuous savings made should encourage us in the difficult challenge to improve further.
Care towards the environment we live in is also made up of many other small daily attentions, such as:
- the use for all the fleet of company cars of sulphur-free diesel, thus avoiding the release of around 8.50 kg of sulphur oxide into the air.
- selecting our dye additives has reduced by almost 50% the quantity of active-surface agents in our waste water and by over 60 % the quantity of nitrogen
- the structural modification of the facilities for the preparation and the storage of the caustic soda in the mercerization area has led to a reduction of over 75% of used soda dumping and purification
- the use of biodegradable packaging makes waste disposal easier for our customers.
